Brazilian Willian had a medical with North London side Tottenham Hotspur before deciding upon joining Chelsea seven years ago, the player looking close to signing for Spurs but heading to Stamford Bridge following a £30 million swoop by the Blues. Willian has thus far turned out 226 times for Chelsea, however the roles have very much been reversed seven years on and Tottenham Hotspur are now surprise favourites to lure the winger to White Hart Lane during the summer.
The odds on Willian moving across the capital to Spurs before 1st September 2020 have been slashed from 6/1 just a few days ago to a current 7/2, this due to a rash of bets on Mourinho’s side securing the signature of the 31-year-old with a reported 62% of all bets being aimed in his direction over the past week or so.
Elsewhere, city rivals Arsenal are second favourites in the race to sign the 31-year-old, Mikel Arteta’s side a 5/1 punt to get their hands on the Brazilian. Manchester United are in desperate need of experienced players and they have been pencilled in as a 7/1 punt to lure Willian to Old Trafford during the summer, while his former employers Juventus are also 7/1 to lure him back to Serie A.
Barcelona come in next at 12/1 while Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are 16/1 shots.
