Rangers saw their four-game winning run grind to a halt when they were held to a disappointing goal-less draw with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park last time out, however that hasn’t ended their unbeaten streak with Steven Gerrard’s men going eleven games without defeat across all competitions and winning all-but-one of the last five in the Premiership. They will look to make it five wins from six when they entertain St Johnstone on Saturday afternoon and narrow the six-point gap which exists between themselves and table-topping Celtic. The question is, can they bounce back from their draw at Rugby Park by collecting all three points in front of their home fans or will they fall further behind in what is fast becoming a one-horse race for the Scottish Premiership title?

Visitors St Johnstone have been struggling with a poor run of form which threatens to send them spiralling out of the top-six in the league table. Their bid for silverware came to an end in disappointing fashion when they were thumped to the tune of 5-0 by Celtic in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup last weekend and the fact is that they have lost all of their last five matches – albeit three of these coming against the Hoops. Nevertheless the Perth side also lost 2-1 to strugglers Hamilton Academical during this poor run and their dismal form away from home suggests that they will get nothing from their weekend trip to Ibrox. We do expect the visitors to make the Light Blues work hard for their three points however, Saints managing to frustrate opponents in the early stages of their matches. They have been on level terms at half-time in each of their previous five Premiership outings – two of these being against leaders Celtic – and as such we believe that Rangers will need to show a little patience before they find the breakthrough on Saturday afternoon, William Hill Bookmakers going 29/1 on Draw/Rangers on HT/FT market.
