Preston North End have put any lingering relegation worries firmly behind them by embarking upon an excellent run of form which has seen them win four and draw two of their last six Championship outings, this streak culminating in a very impressive 3-1 win at home to then-league leaders Norwich City. This latest victory further underlined their credentials in the second tier and while a 93rd-minute goal from the Canaries took the shine of that win, it couldn’t detract from the fact that North End are within reach of the top-six in the division.
The win over Norwich was Preston’s eleventh of the campaign and lifts them to within eight points of the final play-off berth. The Lilywhites have grabbed six of their wins at Deepdale with their inconsistent away form continuing to be of concern to manager Alex Neil, however weekend opponents Nottingham Forest have been dropping points with reckless abandon in recent weeks and we don’t envisage Preston’s unbeaten league run coming to an end on Saturday afternoon.

Nottingham Forest could only manage a share of the spoils with West Bromwich Albion in their last match and while this in itself is no huge disgrace, the Tricky Trees can’t continue to drop points if they wish to challenge for a top-six finish to the campaign. Forest have only managed three Championship wins on their travels this season, however they have shared the spoils in nine on the road and with Preston drawing three of their last four home league matches, we’ll be siding with this match to end the same way, Coral Bookmakers going 5/2 on a draw.
