Premier League 2019/20 Opening-weekend Fixtures

The Premier League fixtures for the 2019/20 campaign have just been announced with last season's runners-up Liverpool set for an easy start

Premier League Fixtures 2019/20

The fixture list for the 2019/20 season has just been released and reigning European champions Liverpool will get things underway when they entertain newly-promoted Norwich City at Anfield on Friday 9th August. The Reds will be desperate to go one better than last season when they chased Manchester City all the way but ultimately couldn’t catch up with Pep Guardiola’s men and had to settle for second position.

Premier League winners Manchester City will look to make it three titles on the bounce in 2019/20 and the bookmakers make them firm favourites to once again hold aloft the trophy. Guardiola’s side start their campaign with a trip to the capital where they take-on West Ham United on Saturday 10th August and the visitors are huge odds-on favourites to get things off to a winning start.

Tottenham Hotspur made it through to the final of the Champions League at the end of last season but they ultimately finished the campaign with nothing for their troubles, save for a top-four finish in the Premier League once again. Spurs have what should on paper be a relatively easy assignment in their opening match of the 2019/20 season although newly-promoted Aston Villa will be eager to hit the ground running upon their return to the Premier League.

Of the top-four sides of 2019/20, Chelsea have what must be considered the toughest assignment when they lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday 11th August. The Red Devils failed to climb into the top-four at the end of last season following a downturn in form and they will be desperate to get things back on track in what will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full season in charge, assuming that he doesn’t get sacked.
