Following their promotion into the third tier at the end of 2016/17, Plymouth seemed to find the going relatively easy in League One with the Pilgrims finishing just three points short of a play-off position, however the Devon side are clearly having a few issues in 2018/19 and they find themselves propping up the rest of the division with just three points to show for their seven league outings to date. Derek Adams is still the man in charge at Home Park and he has overseen some hugely disappointing results so far this term with league defeats to Walsall (2-1), Coventry City (1-0), Peterborough (1-5) and Portsmouth (3-0) as well as draws with Southend United, Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol Rovers. Indeed it is notable that all of Plymouth’s points have come at the expense of sides in the lower reaches of the league table and we don’t really fancy their chances of managing anything from their weekend meeting with a Blackpool side which are just two points short of the play-off places as things stand.
Blackpool have been a bit of a mixed bag this season although they have only lost one of their seven League One outings to date, this being by a single-goal margin at home to Portsmouth. Similarly they have only managed two wins during this time although they head into this match on the back of a 3-2 victory over Bradford City and we fancy their chances of making it two wins on the bounce, especially so since they have avoided defeat (in 90 minutes) in all of their away games this season. As such we’ll be siding with the visitors to edge their way to three points in Devon this weekend, Ladbrokes Bookmakers going 6/4 on Ladbrokes Bookmakers to win.
