Portsmouth may have slipped-up to a 1-0 defeat at home to Blackpool in their last outing but they remain four points clear at the top of the League One table thanks to some excellent form throughout the season and while the weekend defeat will have been a massive disappointment, we expect them to pick themselves up when they visit Oxford on Saturday afternoon.
The defeat to the Seasiders brought to an end a four-game winning run and while there is little real cause for concern just yet, Pompey boss Kenny Jackett will be slightly frustrated to see his side slow down a little with a few points dropped since Christmas. A perfect response for this slight downturn in form would be a win at the Kassam Stadium this weekend and we certainly expect the visitors to give a good account of themselves as they aim to further strengthen their grip on pole position in the League One table.

Oxford United are struggling in the lower reaches of the League One table, the side level on points with two of the bottom-three sides in the division as things stand. They did manage to halt their three-game losing league run when holding Fleetwood Town to a 2-2 draw at the Highbury Stadium last time out but in general, Oxford have been struggling in the third-tier and having lost each of their last two home games without scoring a single goal, we don’t fancy their chances against a Portsmouth side which enjoy the best away record in the division this season, BetVictor Bookmakers going 6/5 on Portsmouth to win.
