Norwich City v Liverpool Match preview

It's top versus bottom in the Premier League on Saturday evening and we can only see one winner in what looks set to be a one-sided exchange

Runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool go head-to-head with rock-bottom side Norwich City in what has the makings of a thoroughly one-sided encounter at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.

Norwich City v Liverpool: 5:30 pm, Saturday 15th February, Carrow Road. Sky Sports.

Top and bottom

All the bookmakers firmly believe that both Liverpool and Norwich City will still occupy their current positions in the Premier League table when the season draws to a close in under three months’ time, this meaning that Liverpool would end their 30-year wait for domestic glory and clinch the Premier League title for the first time in their history. It would also mean that Norwich City would drop straight back down to the Championship at the first time of asking, just twelve months after winning promotion as division winners.

Few worries

Liverpool can start to relax a little as the business end of the campaign fast approaches, Jurgen Klopp’s men sitting a massive 22 points clear at the top of the Premier League with just thirteen points left to play. They remain on course to smash through the 100-point barrier well before the end of the campaign and they will certainly be looking for other records to break along the way.

Slight concern

The only area of concern for the Reds this weekend lies in Norwich City’s improvement of late, the Canaries losing just twice in their last eight matches. Daniel Farke’s men have been far better on home soil than they have on their travels and they edged past Manchester City to the tune of 3-2 in September, however all these facts will almost certainly be irrelevant given that Liverpool just keep on winning this season.

Champions League distraction

Liverpool face Atletico Madrid in the Championship League on Tuesday evening and as such, Jurgen Klopp’s side may not be the strongest for this weekend’s Premier League outing, however even the absence of a few key players won’t have much effect on a match which will almost certainly go the visitors’ way.
