Nigeria will be in for a tough time of things when they face Women’s World Cup hosts France this evening and they will be dearly hoping that the home side will be taking their feet of the pedal otherwise the Africans will likely need to qualify for the knockout stages as one of the best placed third-place sides.France have already made Group A very much their own and Norway and Nigeria are battling it our for a top-two finish, South Korea looking set to be heading home after the final group match.
Nigeria are level on points with Norway having lost 3-0 to the Scandinavians and won 2-0 against rock-bottom side South Korea, however they face a very difficult hurdle in their final group game and it’s not one which we expect them to overcome.
Indeed the likely scenario sees Norway beating South Korea by a reasonably comfortable margin and should this be the case, then Nigeria would need to beat France by a far bigger margin. That isn’t going to happen and as such Nigeria need South Korea to do them a massive favour in this final group round.

French coach Corinne Diacre may well decide to rest a few of her key players ahead of some tough knockout-stage games, however with Les Blues not yet guaranteed a top-place finish in the group, they still have the motivation to go out and give their very best.
This may not be a convincing victory for the hosts but we do believe that France will make it three wins from three and leave the Nigerians needing South Korea to do their part by beating Norway, BetVictor Bookmakers going 11/5 on France to win and both teams to score.
