Kilmarnock have been enjoying an excellent season thus far and after 23 league outings they sit third in the Scottish Premiership table with goal-difference alone separating them from second-placed Rangers. Killie edged their way to a 2-1 win over Rangers earlier this month and followed this with a goal-less draw at Aberdeen, however we expect the home side to boost their chances of securing European football for the first time in 18 years when they lock horns with Heart of Midlothian on Friday evening.
Kilmarnock have been a much improved side under the guidance of Steve Clarke and their unbeaten run across all competitions now stands at seven matches. They are clearly more than capable of mixing it with the likes of Rangers and Celtic at the top end of the Premiership table and while winning the title is likely beyond them, they are more than capable of finishing the season in the top-three.

Heart of Midlothian enjoyed a blistering start to the season although while it was clear that their excellent winning run couldn’t last, few expected the Jambos to stumble in such an emphatic manner. Hearts have dropped from pole position in the Scottish Premiership down to fifth and clearly the absence of star player Steven Naismith has hit them hard over the past couple of months. The on-loan Scottish international should make an appearance in this match but given that Killie are red hot right now, we’ll be siding with the home side to edge their way to three points in what could prove to be a thrilling match, Ladbrokes Bookmakers going 9/2 on Kilmarnock to win and both teams to score.
