This is proving to be an extremely tough season for Ipswich Town with the Tractor Boys struggling badly at the moment. The East Anglians have picked up just four points from their opening eight Championship matches courtesy of four draws and four defeats, however can they improve upon this disappointing form when they entertain Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon. Paul Hurst’s men bounced back from a hugely disappointing 2-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Hull City earlier this month by snatching a point from their weekend meeting with high-flying Brentford and confidence will be relatively high heading into their weekend outing. Ipswich have collected each of their four points in front of their home fans, however the question is, can the Tractor Boys get their first win on the board at Portman Road on Saturday or will it be more disappointment?
Recent results haven’t been too good for visitors Bolton Wanderers with just a single point collected from their last four games, this coming from their 2-2 draw with struggling Preston North End earlier this month. Indeed Bolton started the season in excellent fashion with just two points dropped in their opening four games, the most notable result being a 2-1 win at newly-relegated West Bromwich Albion. Since then they have stumbled with some dreadfully poor form and while we anticipate them returning to winning ways at some point in the near future, we don’t envisage this happening at the weekend.
That said, Ipswich Town’s recent form hardly inspires confidence either and while the East Anglians haven’t been beaten in front of their home fans this season, they haven’t managed any wins at Portman Road either and as such we’ll be siding with the spoils being shared on Saturday afternoon, William Hill Bookies going 23/10 on a draw.
