With Huddersfield Town three points adrift at the foot of the Premier League table, nothing short of a massive turnaround in fortunes will be enough for them to keep their top-flight status intact for another season. Nevertheless new boss Jan Siewert will be in charge of his side for the first time tonight when Everton come to town and he will be eager to get his reign at the John Smiths Stadium off to the best possible start.
Former boss David Wagner was unable to get any more out of a side which has been looking increasingly out of its depth this season and it remains to be seen whether or not Siewert can do any better.
To be fair, Wagner did pretty well with what he had at his disposal and it was a surprise to many that he kept the Terriers in the top-flight at the end of 2017/18. This time around they have been pretty toothless in attack however and that is almost certain to be their undoing. We don’t envisage things getting any better when they face the Toffees this week.

Siewert will doubtless have a few ideas of his own, however his appointment as manager will almost certainly be factoring in a season in the Championship and a possible promotion campaign in 2019/20. The Terriers shared the spoils with Everton earlier in the season but we expect them to be taking another step towards the second tier when they entertain the Merseysiders tonight, BetVictor Bookmakers going 11/10 on Everton to win.
