Henry Brooke is one of the most promising National Hunt jockeys in the game and the FreeBetting.co.uk-sponsored rider will be taking part in the 2018 Grand National after it emerged that he would be on board Delusionofgrandeur.

The eight-year-old was one of the last horses to make the final cut of the forty runners that will be lining up in the Aintree extravaganza, with Henry excited about participating in the famous race this year.

“It’s fantastic to get my name out there by riding in the Grand National”, admitted Henry who will be riding a horse off a low weight of 10-5.

“The plan is to ride Delusionofgrandeur in a patient fashion and hope that he gets into his rhythm over the fences nice and quickly.

“While the odds suggest that winning the Grand National would be a big ask, the horse ran well at Haydock recently and deserves to take his chances here.”

Henry admits that it’s an exciting feeling to be part of things at Aintree tomorrow, with the jockey respecting the chances of Blaklion and Anibale Fly in the race.

“Blaklion clearly runs well at Aintree as he demonstrated in last year’s race” the jockey told FreeBetting.co.uk.

“He ticks all the right boxes of a Grand National winner and the withdrawal of Minella Rocco means a bit less weight in the saddle.”

Henry has another ride at Aintree on Saturday, with the jockey aboard Wakanda in the 3.40 which is the Betway Handicap Chase.

The horse could be a good each-way bet at 14/1, with Brooke confident that his charge can run a big race.

“He didn’t seem to like Cheltenham last time out but I got a tremendous spin out of him when winning at Doncaster,” Henry told us.

“Beating Warriors Tale and L’Ami Serge was no mean feat and we’re just hoping the ground isn’t too slow on Saturday.”

As always, we wish Henry the very best at Aintree this weekend and hope that he and his horses come home safely.
