Odds-on Favourites

Fulham have placed themselves firmly into the driving seat for a place in the Championship play-off finals, Scott Parker’s men having secured a 2-0 win at the Cardiff City Stadium in the first leg of the two-legged semi-final yesterday. The Cottagers took the lead shortly after half time courtesy of Josh Onomah and doubled their advantage in the first minute of stoppage time when Kebano found the back of the net. The West Londoners are odds-on at 10/11 to join newly-promoted Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League next season.

Disappointing Finish

Brentford will doubtless be kicking themselves for their failure to continue their excellent form into the closing two matches of the regular season. Thomas Frank’s men looked set to pip West Brom at the post for the final automatic promotion berth, however their eight-game winning run came to a dramatic end when they lost to Stoke City and struggling Barsnley in their closing two matches. The first leg of their play-off semi-final tie with Swansea City ended in a 1-0 defeat at the Liberty Stadium, however they are expected to bounce back from this at their final outing at Griffin Park. The bookmakers go 9/4 that the Bees find themselves in the Premier League for the first time ever next season.

Welsh Duo

Swansea City’s unconvincing home win has left them third-favourites to successfully negotiate the play-offs while arch-rivals Cardiff City are 16/1 to claw their way back from their 2-0 defeat and go through to the top-flight, some firms going as much as 33/1 on the Bluebirds.
