Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte favourite to take over at Inter Milan

Former Chelsea gaffer Antonio Conte is Evens favourite to take over at Serie A side Inter Milan

Following Inter Milan’s Coppa Italia defeat last night, former Blues boss Antonio Conte is favourite to take over at the San Siro Stadium with the bookmakers slashing his odds from 6/1 to just Evens that he takes the reins from under-pressure manager Luciano Spaletti. Indeed the money continues to pour in for the Italian with a reported 46% of all bets being on Conte to be given the job on a permanent basis.

Former Inter and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho comes in second in the outright market at 5/2 while Atletico Madrid gaffer Diego Simeone sits well back at 10/1 just ahead of Di Biagio at 12/1.

Following Inter Milan’s Coppa Italia defeat to arch-rivals Lazio last night, the likelihood is that Spaletti’s time at the San Siro will soon be over and the most heavily backed man for the job is Conte. Indeed it was always on the cards that the former Chelsea boss would return to Serie A at some point in the near future and there are clear parallels with this possible appointment and the one which he took at Italian champions Juventus, a side which he restored to past glories during his time in Turin.
