This is certainly the most prestigious of the five Classics and it is the richest horse race in the United Kingdom. The 2021 renewal takes place on Saturday 5th June and involves a length of one and a half miles.

This is a real test of a thoroughbred and requires a unique blend of stamina, speed and good balance in order to successfully negotiate the left-handed camber and undulating terrain. This race is regarded as a classic only for Colts, however this event is open to both sexes and Fillies sometimes contest the race.

This is without a doubt one of the world’s great races and one which every jockey, trainer and owner wants to win. The first Derby was run in 1780 and it was won by a horse called Diomed.

When it comes to betting on the Derby, many punters study the form of the horses meticulously while others simply opt for a runner whose name they like. Alternatively many Derby bets are based on jockey or trainer, while others are placed on horses that have fared well in this race in the past or have a proven track record at the venue or over the same distance.

Derby Free Bets are available once you register with a bookmaker on the day of the race while if you start betting with a bookie beforehand, you can bet on any of the races taking place throughout the two-day festival, this also including the Oaks which generally takes place on the day preceding the Derby itself.

Betting on the Derby is hugely popular and you can sometimes get the Derby winner at a decent price such as 20/1 or even 33/1, therefore it is worth checking outside the favourites for your betting options.

You can take advantage of the many Derby Free Bets by registering an account with any of our betting partners today. Registering is free and easy, simply click on the exclusive links provided and fill in your details. Should you wish to take advantage of the welcome free bet or bonus, you will be asked to make an initial deposit although you are never under any obligation to do so.

If you do take advantage of the welcome free bet or bonus, then make sure that you read in full all of the terms and conditions attached to the offer. These can vary greatly between bookmakers and will also include details of the wagering requirements which may need to be met.
