Oldham Athletic grabbed themselves a scalp in the last round of the FA Cup in the form of Premier League side Fulham at Craven Cottage, therefore a trip to the Keepmoat Stadium against familiar opposition won’t hold much fear for the Lancashire side this weekend. Pete Wild is the man in the hot-seat at Boundary Park – albeit in a temporary capacity – and he led his charges to a tremendous result against the Cottagers, however while they have been denied a glamour tie in the fourth round of the tournament, it does give the Latics a realistic chance of making it into the last sixteen of this season’s FA Cup.
It certainly won’t be a walk in the park for the visitors however with Doncaster making a bid for the League One play-offs this season and while Oldham have won two of their three FA Cup meetings with Donnie since 2012/13, we’re not convinced that things will go their way this weekend.

Grant McCann has replaced Darren Ferguson in the hot-seat at the Keepmoat Stadium and thus far he has been doing a great job with his side scoring aplenty and playing some very attractive football along the way. Weekend opponents Oldham found a winning formula against a side three divisions above them earlier this month but we envisage the Latics’ FA Cup run ending in South Yorkshire at the hands of Doncaster on Saturday afternoon in what has the makings of a closely-fought affair, William Hill Bookmakers going 13/5 on Doncaster Rovers to win and both teams to score.
