Derby County remain in the Championship top-six despite some poor recent results but just a single point separates them from seventh-placed Bristol City as things stand and they desperately need to get some positive results on the board. Frank Lampard’s men could only manage a share of the spoils in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday last time out, Bradley Johnson firing the Rams into the lead but Sheffield Wednesday levelling matters with a Dominic Iorfa goal just before the hour mark. Lampard’s side remain in play-off contention but they are struggling to grind out wins and should they fail to pick themselves up, then their top-six position will be under threat.

Visitors Stoke City head into this match on the back of a draw with Queens Park Rangers last time out, the Potters being on the back foot early in the game with Sam Clucas being red-carded in the eighth minute. Nathan Jones’ men now sit ten points adrift of the play-off places but more importantly they have hauled themselves twelve points clear of the relegation zone.
Both sides are in desperate need of wins, however with the Rams winning just once in their last six outings and Stoke winning two of their last thirteen, we feel that this match has ‘draw’ written all over it. Indeed on home turf Derby County have drawn six times this season while the Potters have been forced to share the spoils no less than eleven times in their eighteen away games this term. With that in mind, we’ll be siding with the spoils being shared on Wednesday evening, BetVictor Bookies going 9/4 on a draw.
