Declan Rice odds-on to be part of Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 plans

Midfielder Declan Rice is being seen as a shoo-in to be part of Gareth Southgate's plans for next summer's European Championships

England manager Gareth Southgate is known to be a big fan of combative midfielder Declan Rice and the West Ham United player is odds-on at just 8/11 with Paddy Power Bookmakers to be part of Southgate’s plans next summer. The 20-year-old has pledged his allegiance to the Three Lions and the bookies predict that he will filter straight into the squad for next summer’s European Championships despite turning our for the Republic of Ireland in three international friendlies. Indeed the general feeling is that Rice will start against the Czech Republic on March 22nd with Paddy Power going 4/5 that this proves to be the case.

Indeed most pundits believe that Rice won’t be a flash in the pan for England with the bookmakers going 13/8 that he turns out over 50 times for England during his career. Of more concern to Hammers fans however will be rumours of a possible move to either Manchester United or Manchester City during the summer, odds of 5/2 up for grabs should he move to either of these clubs.

The last battle for a player between England and the Republic of Ireland resulted in Jack Grealish opting for the Three Lions, however the Aston Villa player is still awaiting a call-up for his country. Rice almost certainly won’t need to wait too long however and we expect him to pulling on the Three Lions jersey in time for next summer’s European Championships.
