The Championship action returns this weekend with some potential thrillers in prospect. Leeds United still reign supreme at the top of the table although Norwich City are breathing down their necks following some excellent recent results. Leeds will certainly be put to the test this weekend when they travel to West Bromwich Albion while Norwich have what looks on paper to be an altogether easier assignment when they entertain strugglers Millwall at Carrow Road.
Sheffield United were knocked off their lofty perch last weekend when they lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest and they will be eager to bounce back from this disappointing result and keep their title hopes very much alive when they face local rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening while fellow promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough will be confident of success when they host Wigan Athletic at the Riverside Stadium.
At the opposite end of the league table, Ipswich Town sit five points adrift of safety and we expect their woes to worsen when they lock horns with an improved Reading side while Hull City will look to make it three wins on the bounce when they travel to Birmingham City, the Tigers certain to be in high spirits following back-to-back wins over Bolton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion in their last two outings.
Who will be the Championship winners and losers this weekend? Here’s what we think…
