Rangers fans will surely have accepted that the Scottish Premiership title race is effectively over and the best that Steven Gerrard’s men can now realistically achieve is a top-two finish to the season. In this regard the Light Blues are very well placed with an eight-point gap separating them from third-placed Aberdeen.
Ten points exist between Rangers and league leaders Celtic and while that in itself isn’t insurmountable, the likelihood of the Hoops slipping-up to such an extent in the latter stages of the campaign is very very slim indeed.
The Light Blues did enjoy a rare league win over Celtic in the last meeting between the sides, Gerrard’s side dominating from start to finish in what was a peculiarly one-sided exchange. Nevertheless while many expected this to be the start of a thrilling title battle, Rangers effectively wilted under the pressure of expectation and the title was handed on a plate to their arch-rivals.

Clearly the Light Blues will look to make Celtic wait as long as possible for their inevitable title success and a win at Parkhead would certainly push this date back, however it’s difficult to envisage the visitors managing anything from this clash given that they have failed to register a single win in their last four outings.
As such we’ll be siding with Celtic to open up a thirteen-point gap at the top of the Premiership table on Sunday afternoon in what has all the makings of another low-scoring affair, Ladbrokes Bookmakers going 16/5 on Celtic to win and Under 2.5 total goals.
