Bristol City v Preston North End Match Preview & Free Bets

Preston have avoided defeat in their last six outings and they will look to continue this unbeaten run when they travel to Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon

Preston North End are sitting firmly in the lower reaches of the Championship table following a dreadfully slow start to the campaign, however while they sit level on points with two of the sides in the bottom three, recent form suggests that they have what it takes to climb away from the danger zone in the coming weeks. The Lilywhites battled their way to a hugely entertaining 3-3 draw at Aston Villa early last month and this proved to be the start of a six-game unbeaten run with wins over Wigan Athletic (4-0) and Brentford (4-3) during that time. Unfortunately for Preston, four of those games ended in draws and this is the reason why they haven’t climbed far up the Championship table. Indeed should Preston slip-up this weekend, then they could find themselves back in the drop zone although in fairness they look far better than some of the sides around them in the lower reaches of the league table. They are certainly moving in the right direction and we expect them to give a good account of themselves when they face the Robins this weekend, the bookmakers giving away free bets on Bristol City v Preston North End.

Bristol City started the season in decent enough fashion and once again set themselves up as possible play-off contenders, however while they have generally been putting in some good performances they sit twelfth in what is a very tight top-half of the Championship table with seventeenth-placed Sheffield Wednesday just three points behind them. Indeed the Robins enjoyed a fantastic start to 2017/18 but ultimately drifted away from contention thanks to a dismal run in the latter stages of the campaign. This is certainly something which they’ll be eager not to repeat this time around although with defeats to Stoke City (0-1) and Reading (3-2) in their last two outings, we’ll be siding with the spoils being shared with a Preston North End outfit which look set to haul themselves away from the relegation zone in the coming weeks, Coral Bookmakers going 12/5 on a draw.
