Bayern Munich v Eintracht Frankfurt Match Preview & Free Bets

Bayern Munich v Eintracht Frankfurt go head-to-head in the DFB Pokal Final this weekend, Bayern looking to complete their fourth domestic double in six seasons.

The German season draws to a close this weekend with what promises to be a thrilling clash between Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt in the final of the 2017/18 DFB Pokal. This meeting between these sides has added importance given that Frankfurt boss Niko Kovac is soon to leave the club and take over in place of Jupp Heynckes in the Bayern Munich dug-out. The question is, can Kovac manage a win against a side which he will be managing next term or will it be a domestic double for Bayern on Saturday afternoon, their fourth in six years?

Bayern are certainly the undisputed dominant force in German football at the moment and some heavy spending will be needed by their main rivals in order to end their supremacy on the domestic scene. Heynckes’ men finished the Bundesliga campaign with a huge 21 points separating them from their closest rivals, standout results including a 6-2 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup and a 6-0 thumping of arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund. Bayern are massive favourites to win this weekend’s DFB Pokal Final although you can grab extra-value on the Bavarian side with free bets available from the bookmakers.

Bayern enjoyed two wins over Frankfurt this season with a 1-0 win away from home in December and a 4-1 victory in front of their home fans last month, the latter win being all the more impressive given that Heynckes had decided to rest the likes of James Rodriguez, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller. Frankfurt will certainly be no pushover on Saturday and anything can happen in cup competitions although we don’t envisage any shock results when the sides line-up against each other this weekend.

Backing a Bayern Munich victory on the outright market isn’t going to provide the punter with any massive return, however there are other ways to grab a profit while backing the Bavarians. Bayern are expected to completely dominate this match and there is no evidence to suggest that this dominance won’t come from the outset. Heynckes’ men have led both at the break and at the final whistle in each of their meetings this season and the value lies in backing them to repeat this feat on Saturday afternoon with Ladbrokes Bookies going 3/4 on Bayern/Bayern on the Half Time/Full Time betting market.
