In-form

Manchester United have been one of the big movers on the outright market for next season’s Premier League Title and it’s not hard to see why. The Red Devils have been hugely impressive following their return from the break, a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur being followed by convincing league wins over Sheffield United (3-0), Brighton & Hove Albion (0-3) and most recently AFC Bournemouth (5-2). Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men also find themselves in the last four of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road and it’s hard to envisage this excellent run coming to an end tonight when they visit Villa Park.

Champions League

United have hauled themselves up the Premier League table on the back of this excellent run and they are now just four points behind fourth-placed Leicester City and five below the top-three with a game-in-hand over all the sides above them. Victory over relegation-threatened Aston Villa tonight would push them firmly into Champions League contention and clearly this will be foremost in the players’ minds ahead of this clash.

Business End

Aston Villa are finding the going tough as they enter the business end of the campaign, Dean Smith’s men having collected just two points from their five games since the end of lockdown. They sit four points adrift of safety as things stand and head into tonight’s clash on the back of successive defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers (0-1) and Liverpool (2-0). Indeed the Villans haven’t picked up a league win since mid-January and given that they have found the net just once in their last three games, we envisage them drawing a blank at home tonight.
