A large number of bets have been placed on Arsene Wenger taking the reins at Bundesliga side Bayern Munich following the dismissal of Niko Kovac last weekend. Indeed over the past 24 hours or so, a reported 55% of all bets have been aimed towards the former Arsenal manager taking over at the Allianz Arena and this has sent his odds tumbling from a huge 25/1 all the way down to Evens with most bookies, one firm even going as low as 1/5 that he finds himself next in charge of the reigning German champions.
Wenger is now ahead of long-term rival Jose Mourinho in the betting market, the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss now out at 6/1 for the vacant position. Indeed interim head coach Bayern boss Hans-Dieter Flick has overtaken the ‘Special One’ in the market, the former assistant boss of the national side a 6/5 shot to be given the post on a permanent footing. Italian manager Massimiliano Allegri is next at 10/1 while Erik ten Hag is out at 14/1.

Arsene Wenger ledt Arsenal in 2018 after 22 years in the post and he has been out of work since then, however the 70-year-old has made it clear that he has no intention of hanging-up his trench coat just yet. Indeed Wenger’s next job has been the subject of much speculation and intrigue, however it is looking increasingly likely that he could be on his way to the Bundesliga before long.
