Arsenal endured a hugely disappointing evening when they lost 1-0 to unfancied BATE Borisov in the first leg of their last-32 outing on Thursday evening. Stanislaw Drahun found the back of the net in the 45th minute to give the home side the lead and they clung on until the final whistle to grab themselves a shock win. Indeed the home side hadn’t played a competitive match since mid-December but they now have a decent advantage heading into the second leg at the Emirates Stadium.
The disappointment for Arsenal was compounded by Alexandre Lacazette being red-carded for a foolish elbow and as such, Unai Emery’s men have it all to do in front of their home fans next time out. Nevertheless the bookmakers are confident that they can claw their way back into contention and they remain third-favourites to win the competition at 6/1 with BetVictor, behind favourites Chelsea at 4/1 and Napoli at 5/1.
Arsenal have been red-hot on home soil this season and the trip to London will doubtless be a tough one for Borisov, the Gunners able to call upon a vast array of top-class talent which should prove too much for their opponents.

Nevertheless Gunners fans will doubtless be nervous heading into the second leg given that their fragile defence has been lacking of late, a single away goal for the visitors piling the pressure on the North Londoners as well as their manager.
