Leicester City now find themselves in the top-seven in the Premier League table and they will be confident of maintaining this position for the remainder of the season, this in itself representing a very solid campaign given the rather wild fluctuations in form which they have experienced in recent seasons. Indeed the Foxes have yet to concede a Premier League goal this year and they are firm favourites to collect all three points against an unimpressive Everton at Goodison Park tonight.
The Toffees would clearly love to narrow the six-point gap which exists between themselves and Leicester City and in all honesty, the Toffees’ season could yet go in one of two directions given that they sit a mere five points above the bottom three despite sitting in the top-half of the league table.
It would appear that the Sam Allardyce honeymoon period is now over and while the Merseyside outfit managed five wins in his first six matches in charge, they have now collected just three points from a possible eighteen and they desperately need to stop the rot. The arrival of Theo Walcott may prove fruitful and he certainly made a decent start when scoring against West Bromwich Albion on his debut and Allardyce will be hoping that his other new signing Cenk Tosun can also make an impact in the coming weeks and months.
Nevertheless with Allardyce having a very large squad at his disposal, he is clearly needing a while to make the best of what he has available. That said, he has had over a week to prepare for this clash although we don’t believe that they will manage any more than a single point in front of their home fans tonight.
